Passing that gate didn\u2019t just prove the tech works in freezing conditions. And the pipeline isn\u2019t dry yet.<\/p><p>Starting in October, Rivian will be able to draw on a US$1 billion loan facility from Volkswagen Group. On top of that, another US$460 million equity injection is locked in once the first vehicle using the joint venture\u2019s technology goes on sale. Add it all up and the total deal could be worth as much as US$5.8 billion.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-r2-factor\"><strong>The R2 factor<\/strong><\/h2><p>The timing matters.
